5-minute quick start
Complete these five steps to create a key, configure a client, and send your first request. Check the group and live pricing when a protocol or model is unavailable.
Step 1: Sign in or create an account
Open the AI1API console and sign in. Individual users can start immediately; teams should decide which group each key belongs to.
Step 2: Create an API Key
Open API Keys, create a key, and choose an available group. Store the key only in a local secret manager or client configuration.
Step 3: Choose a client
Use the Use API Key action next to the key, select a client and operating system, and copy the generated endpoint and configuration.
Step 4: Send the first request
This OpenAI-compatible example is for a general group. If the group only allows Responses or Messages, use the verification command on that client page.
export AI1API_API_KEY="sk-your-key"
curl https://ai1api.com/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $AI1API_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"gpt-5.6-sol","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"Reply with OK"}],"stream":false}'Step 5: Confirm usage
Open Token Usage or Usage Stats in the console and confirm the request appears. Use this view to check balance, model, and key issues.
Success looks like
HTTP 200 with assistant content in the response.
