Connect AI1API to VSCode + Cline

VSCode + Cline can connect to AI1API through a custom endpoint. Choose the protocol that matches the group assigned to your key.

Prerequisites

The client is installed
An API Key exists and its group allows the selected protocol

Setup steps

Step 1: Create an API Key

Create a key in API Keys and note its group. Protocols and available models can vary by group.

Step 2: Enter endpoint and auth

For OpenAI-compatible clients, use the Base URL, a Bearer API key, and an available model. For Anthropic-compatible clients, follow the Claude Code guide.

Step 3: Send a minimal request

Start with a short text request, then enable streaming or tools after the basic connection works.

Field names vary by client; follow the client UI when it asks for a provider or endpoint.
CC Switch users can use the Import to CCS action in the console.
